A reward has been offered to help catch the suspects who vandalized the popular “I Believe in Nashville” mural in 12South.

The incident apparently happened overnight Tuesday at the mural located at 2700 12th Avenue South.

It had been painted to say "I Believe in Global Warming," but business owners blacked out the text.

The Howell brothers have released a surveillance image of the alleged vandal. They said they're offering a $500 reward for his or her identification.

This past March, the mural was hit with tar. The landlord of the building had the tar removed, and the mural repainted by Nashville street artist Adrien Saporiti.

March 25 marked the fifth anniversary of the mural's creation.
