Officials with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture have shut down some pumps at a total of nine Mapco gas stations because of fuel contamination.

Only three stations had pumps shut down originally, but that number grew to four, then nine on Thursday.

The locations are as listed:

3043 Nolensville Road, Nashville
8631 Hwy 25 East, Cross Plains
240 Hwy 109 N. at I-40, Lebanon
2406 Elm Hill Pike, Nashville
3900 Lebanon Road, Hermitage
883 Hartsville Pike, Gallatin
1501 Murfreesboro Rd., Franklin
2099 Wilma Rudolph Blvd., Clarksville
1500 Tiny Town Road, Clarksville

TDA inspections and lab tests indicated that some Regular Unleaded and possibly Mid-Grade gasolines had contaminated with diesel fuel at a few specific Mapco locations.

Officials made sure to remind drivers who may have used the fuel that the contamination would most likely affect your vehicle immediately after filling up.

Mapco has set up a hotline, and encouraged customers to call if they believe they purchased contaminated fuel. That number is 1-800-445-5846.

The stores at the stations were still open, as well as the diesel pumps.
