Two armed robbery suspects almost got away with the crime, but after one of them accidentally shot himself, police were able to track the men down.

It happened Thursday night on Firelight Court. Police said 16-year-old Trevon Coleman and 17-year-old Kyle Fugett robbed a pizza delivery man.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the 20-year-old pizza delivery man was delivering an order placed online when he was approached by the two teens who pointed guns at him and demanded money.

He dropped $20 and the pizza on the ground then drove away.

A short time later Coleman showed up at Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna with a non-critical, self-inflicted gunshot wound to his arm.

Detectives determined the shooting occurred in the vicinity of Wildgrove Court.  A search warrant was executed at Fugett’s residence, where he was located along with evidence from the robbery.

The teens were held at juvenile detention on charges of aggravated robbery and unlawful gun possession.
