At least one person was killed in a multiple-vehicle crash that closed the eastbound lanes and part of the westbound lanes of Interstate 24 in Coffee County.

The crash happened just before 9 p.m. Friday at mile marker 105 north of Manchester. Authorities said four vehicles were involved.

Reports stated a vehicle driven by 71-year-old Mary Anne Lasch of Fort Myers, Florida, was traveling west on the interstate and lost control for an unknown reason.

Lasch then crossed into the eastbound lanes clipping another vehicle.

A third vehicle t-boned Lasch causing her to spin around and hit a fourth vehicle head-on. Lasch's vehicle then flipped onto its top.

Officials confirmed Lasch passed away at the scene.

Five others involved in the incident were injured. Their conditions were unknown. Three other people involved in the crash were not injured.

Interstate 24 East was shut down, and westbound traffic was narrowed to one lane. Officials remained on the scene for several hours.
