Middle Tennessee State University and Vanderbilt University have come together to create a summer program preparing kids for jobs in the ever-growing construction industry in Nashville.

Nashville's workforce has had trouble keeping up with its skyline. The shortage of employees in construction has brought MTSU and Vanderbilt together to invest in the future.

The ACE Camp, which stands for Architecture Construction Engineering, has brought students throughout the Southeast together to educate kids about the opportunities in those fields.

"Socialize in groups with other great minds, other engineers, or people who are aspiring to become engineers, or contractors, or even other architects," said Meredith Moore.

Campers receive hands on experience including stops at construction sites throughout Nashville.

Besides the summer camp, ACE also visits schools to teach students about the construction industry.
