Fire Damages East Nashville Fruit Market

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A fruit market in East Nashville was heavily damaged in an early-morning fire.

The incident was reported shortly after 4 a.m. Monday at Uptown Fruit Market on Dickerson Pike, not far from Trinity Lane.

When they arrived on scene, crews with the Nashville Fire Department said the blaze had been burning for quite some time. They believe the blaze originated in the building's ceiling.

The cause remained unclear. No injuries were reported in the blaze.

EMTs were on scene rehabbing Nashville firefighters because many of them worked Sunday night’s fire involving multiple townhomes in the Nipper’s Corner area near Brentwood.

The structure sustained heavy damage. The investigation was ongoing.
