Former Representative Jeremy Durham has respondedto the Bureau of Ethics and Campaign Finance Commission's findings that he inappropriately used thousands of dollars in campaign funds.

Durham and his advisors said the audit, which examined a four-year period, is unlawful and violates four state laws.

He claimed that over those four years he owes his campaign $2,980.59, and said he has already reimbursed the full amount.

Durham's team suggested that any four-year audit would "reveal a certain number of reporting mistakes." Durham did not agree with public statements used which stated any errors made, were made with "malicious intent."

The response said no cash was ever withdrawn for Durham's "personal use."

The former Representative said his wife was acting as an unpaid campaign worker, making her expenses legitimate.

Durham also attached more than 50 supporting documentsalong with his response.
