The gates opened for the first night of the Williamson County Fair.

Friday night marked the first night of the fun-filled fair weekend. For the last 12 years, it's been the highlight of the end of summer with tons of rides, entertainment, and lots of food.

However, organizers said it's not just about the fair's events.

"As you can see with the noise around here, people gather, they see old friends, it's a time to meet new friends when you come here. It's a community event,” said Roger Sanderson.

This year's theme was titled Barnyard Mardi Gras.

Tickets are $7 for adults $4 for kids ages 6-12 and kids under 6 get in free.
