Former Davidson County Judge Casey Moreland lost his latest motion in federal court over his monitoring device.

Moreland asked a federal judge if he could stop wearing an electronic monitoring device while he is out on bond, but the judge ruled against the motion and said he must continue wearing it.

Moreland awaits trial for obstruction of justice and witness tampering.

Moreland has since gotten a 9 a.m. -  to 5 p.m. job in Nashville. His attorney described it as a corporate business job.

Prosecutors claimed Moreland has tried to contact Davidson County Judge Gale Robinson. He was listed as a potential witness in Moreland's upcoming trial.

Moreland said the two have been friends more than 40 years and he was not trying to influence the case.

The trial was set for June.
