A Kentucky woman has been charged after her 7-year-old daughter drowned at an apartment complex in Hendersonville.
Hendersonville Police officials said they were called to the apartments on August 12.
The child’s mother, 25-year-old Kristin Mays, of Elkton, Kentucky, was supposed to be watching her but “failed to maintain visual supervision,” police said.
The child was discovered underwater at the deep end of the pool and given CPR. She was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead.
Mays was arrested and charged with criminally negligent homicide on Tuesday.
