An elderly woman was killed in a wrong-way crash on Ellington Parkway.
The crash happened Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the wrong-way driver, 83-year-old Doris Vanmoerkerke died at the scene.
Investigators said she crashed into a 2010 Dodge minivan driving north near Hart Lane. The driver of the van, 47-year-old Melton Fields, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said northbound lanes were blocked by the crash.
Traffic was diverted to alternate routes, while crews cleared the roadway.
The scene was cleared and drivers were allowed through around 2 p.m.
