A man was fatally shot at an apartment complex in Antioch.

When officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department responded to the scene around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, they found 21-year-old Johnny Broadnax, Jr. lying in the grass at the Hickory Manor Apartments in the 2900 block of Hamilton Church Road.

Broadnax had been shot and was lying near a 2002 GMC Envoy which had hit one of the apartment buildings.

Officials believed Broadnax was shot near the management office and had tried to get away in the SUV just before the crash.

Broadnax was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he passed away.

According to witnesses, a dark gray car with two black racing stripes and tinted windows drove off after the shooting. They added it was possibly a Dodge Charger.

Anyone with information on this murder has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
