Officials with the National Weather Service in Nashville confirmed storm damage in Lewis County was the result of a tornado.
Tuesday afternoon, officials confirmed an EF-1 tornado passed through Lewis County during severe weather Monday.
Further details about the tornado and damage had not yet been released.
Crews with the NWS were out in multiple areas Tuesday to survey damage and determine if it was caused by tornadoes or straight-line winds.
The assessments had been planned for Lewis and Perry counties. They added damage in any other areas was believed to be from straight-line winds.
