When warmer weather arrives with spring, animal experts ask people not to feed ducks bread, and instead feed them things that will fit into their natural diet.

Bread can cause the crippling condition known as “Angel Wing” in ducks and geese, causing their bones to grow too quickly, in turn making it so they can’t fold their wings or fly.

The bread can also lead to disease and cause algae in the water if it's left uneaten.

Things to feed the birds instead include corn, bird seed, lettuce, oats, and other natural ingredients.
