A motorcyclist died in a crash in Williamson County.
Officials in Franklin responded to the scene on Interstate 65 South near Interstate 840 around 9:50 a.m. Wednesday.
The crash involved a motorcycle, and authorities said they found the motorcyclist, a 40-year-old man from Petersburg, severely injured.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
Officers said the motorcyclist lost control near mile marker 59 for unknown reasons and collided with a cable barrier.
No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
The motorcyclist’s identity had not been released. The investigation remained ongoing.
