Emergency crews have been investigating at the scene of an officer-involved shooting.

The incident began on Sunday around 4 p.m. at Uncle Bud's Catfish of Donelson in the 2700 block of Old Lebanon Road.

Police said a disgruntled former employee went to the restaurant and was waving a gun inside wanting to see management. Employees said management had left. He was allegedly threatening to shoot management.

Authorities said he had left the scene after that incident, but he returned shortly after 8 p.m. which was when employees and police said he was firing the gun at the building.

After an altercation with authorities while the suspect was in the back drive through next to the restaurant, the officers demanded he drop his gun.

He did not comply and was shot by officers. The suspect was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was taken to surgery. His condition was unknown.

Those with the Metro Nashville Police Department released a photo of the suspect's gun at the scene.
