Road Rage Argument Leads To Fatal North Nashville Shooting

Metro Nashville Police officials said a road rage incident turned deadly when one of the drivers fired shots through the car door.

The call came in around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday near Ed Temple Boulevard and Buchanan Street.

Officials said 36-year-old Christopher J. Sparks was killed when he was shot in the midsection. Officers said he was shot during an apparent verbal argument with occupant(s) of a second vehicle while driving.

Witnesses told police the two drivers had a loud, heated argument with the occupant(s) of a grey sedan with dark tinted windows.

Sparks’ car traveled a short distance before coming to a stop on Ed Temple Boulevard.  Shots had been fired through the driver’s side door, striking Sparks who died at the scene.

Authorities said the suspect drove away east on Buchanan Street. Police said there was no additional description of the suspect.
