Suspicious packages were found taped to the doors of government buildings in Todd and Logan counties in Kentucky.

Officials said they were found on the doors of the old and new courthouses in Todd County, as well as the courthouse in Logan County on Monday morning. Emergency crews were notified around 7:30 a.m.

One of the packages was removed before officials got to the scene; however, authorities were working to remove the others.

The areas were blocked off as crews were investigating along with a bomb squad.

The courthouses in both Elkton and Russellville were evacuated. Before 11 a.m. authorities confirmed everything had returned to normal.

It was unknown what the packages contained, but authorities confirmed late Monday morning that they were deemed "non-hazardous." One officials in Todd County said each package, or device, was possibly a road flare.

Kentucky State Police troopers said they were working to figure out who was responsible. They added they would be pursuing prosecution.

The investigation remained ongoing.
