More than 2,000 people raced through the streets of Music City as part of the Nashville Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K.

Around 400 runners signed up to run the full marathon Saturday, which looped around downtown and through the greenway in Shelby Park.

The longer races ended on the downhill stretch of Broadway right past all the honky tonks and bars.

A lot of runners from out of town said it was also a great way to see the city.

“This is actually my first time in Nashville, too, so it's kind of cool to run the city a little bit, and I'll be sightseeing at the same time, so I'm excited, yeah!” said Alisha Foster, of Mississippi.

“I don't really know Nashville, as far as downtown, so running downtown will definitely be cool,” said Kelci Frederick, of Knoxville.

The run benefitted Gilda's Club in Nashville.
