NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A 61-year-old died in a crash on Interstate 65 North from what police say may have been caused by a medical issue.

On Monday around 2 p.m., Robert Harris was driving his 2018 Lexus SUV north on I-65 when he traveled off the roadway.

The vehicle then entered grassy area without making any attempt to brake and struck a concrete pillar that supports the Thompson Lane overpass. Harris, who was not wearing his seat belt, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

Metro Police officials say there was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement.

The cause has not been determined, but officials say it could be because of a medical issue.
