Police in Murfreesboro have asked for the public's help in tracking down who's responsible for a paintball gun drive-by that sent a college student running for cover.

Last Thursday at 10:30 p.m., police said 21-year-old Alissa Polock saw a black four door truck driving toward her, then the driver took out a paintball gun and started firing 12 shots.

Alissa told us it's likely the driver in the car was just taking part in a prank, but standing less than three feet away, Alissa said it didn't feel that way to her.

Murfreesboro Police said they're not treating the drive by as a prank either.

"The paintballs actually cause welts and can hurt somebody if shot at somebody, but more importantly it scares the individual that's being shot at," said Sgt. Kyle Evans with the Murfreesboro Police Department.

So far police said they have no suspects. The culprit could face reckless endangerment and assault charges.
