A state autopsy report concluded a Madison County jail inmate who died in November hanged himself.

The Jackson Sun reported 29-year-old Timothy Lusby was found dead in his cell November 12 with a bed sheet around his neck. The sheet was attached to a vent grate in the ceiling.

The autopsy report said Lusby had a known history of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and depression.

Madison County Sheriff's Office spokesman Tom Mapes says Lusby's death was still under investigation. Sheriff John Mehr previously said Lusby wasn't on suicide watch.

Lusby's sister, Candy Lusby, disputed the autopsy report and said the Sheriff's Office should be held responsible for her brother's death.

Timothy Lusby had been arrested by Jackson police on several charges, including aggravated assault and evading arrest.
