Police in Trenton have been investigating after they said a man shot his wife to death before turning the gun on himself.
Local news outlets reported Trenton police identified the deceased as 53-year-old Cedric Pigue and 50-year-old Angela Pigue.
Police Chief Will Sanders said a preliminary investigation showed Cedric Pigue shot his wife Tuesday morning near an intersection. She was found in the driver's seat of a vehicle.
He said Cedric Pigue turned the gun on himself when officers arrived at the scene for reports of a car crash and shots fired.
Police said both bodies were being taken to Memphis for autopsies.
The investigation was ongoing.
