Authorities said a 30-year-old woman has been arrested on charges of murder and child abuse in the death of her boyfriend's 6-year-old son.
Those with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Holly Rutledge, of Whitwell, was arrested Friday night at her job and booked into the Marion County Jail on $50,000 bond. It was not clear if she had a lawyer.
TBI agents said they began investigating the death of 6-year-old Lucas Michael Dillon on March 29, 2015, a day after authorities found his body in a home in Whitwell. Investigators said the boy died from blunt force trauma.
A grand jury in Marion County indicted Rutledge on first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse charges Monday.
