Sonny Melton's wife, Heather, spoke to CNN about the horrific shooting in Las Vegas that took the life of her husband and step-father to her three kids.
She said after seeing Jason Aldean run off stage and feeling ricochets of bullets, she knew it was time to do the same.
"I said to Sonny 'lets get down' and he said 'no we can't get down we'll get trampled' and he just grabbed me from behind and we just went running in kind of a ducked position and I felt him get shot in the back."
Heather said she also thought the shots were fireworks at first and that two men took them to the hospital and stayed with her after Sonny died.
She described her husband as nurturing and caring, saying he would've saved others if he could.
As for the shooter, Heather doesn't want to know anything about him and doesn't want him to overshadow the victims.
