Baseball is back in Nashville as the Sounds prepare for the start of their second season at First Tennessee Park.

Mayor Megan Barry will be throwing out the first pitch as the Sounds take on the Oklahoma City Dodgers at 6:35 p.m. Thursday.

Also, the first 10,000 fans will receive a ballpark aerial photo taken from tonight's game from above First Tennessee Park.

Opening day has long been a tradition to signal the start of baseball season.

For the Sounds, this is their second season at First Tennessee Park.

During the game, the team will unveil a surprise in-game tradition set to take place during the middle of the 5th inning of all 72 home games.

Second basemen Joey Wendle said he's happy to see live game action again.

“After a while, you get tired of practice games,” he said. “It’s just awesome to get back out here and compete and we have a great team, so I’m looking forward to seeing how things shake out this season.”

Fans can also look forward to a post-game fireworks show. Gates were set to open at 5 p.m.
