A teen's request for one Mid-State charity received a surprising response from a reality star.
Amelia Flores, age 17, was featured on the show Dish Nation as she worked to collect shoes for the charity Soles4Souls, which has been based in Old Hickory.
It turned out Kim Kardashian was watching, and the star has now vowed to donate one thousand pairs from Kanye's award-winning collection.
"For the Kims and Amelias that there are, there are millions of people who need their voice, and so those are the people we're trying to help,” said Tiffany Johnson, of Soles4Souls. “So when we have more advocates, more ambassadors for us, more people cleaning out their closets, more people telling their friends about our cause, it only helps us make an even bigger impact around the world."
Flores has now upped her goal to 25,000 pairs so she can travel with Soles4Souls to distribute the shoes.
