Chocolate and beer are two of life’s greatest pleasures, so it only makes sense to combine them. In 2019, Hershey’s offered its first chocolate beer in collaboration with Yuengling Brewery. Both companies are located in Pennsylvania, about 45 miles apart. Now, Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter is available once again, just in time for the fall and winter seasons.

Last year, the chocolatey beer was only available on draft at bars and restaurants in select states. But this year, the brew will be available in bottles as well in all states where Yuengling is sold. But hurry — it’s a limited-time brew and will only be available now through Valentine’s Day. Use this locator to find it near you.

So, what does the Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter taste like? According to the brewery, it’s a twist on their 200-year-old Dark Brewed Porter.

Yuengling

“This first-ever collaboration for Yuengling combines the classic taste of Yuengling’s Porter with the unmistakable taste of Hershey’s chocolate to create a deliciously unique and smooth porter with hints of roasted malts and a rich chocolate finish,” reads a description on the Yuengling’s FAQs page.

The porter has an ABV of 4.7% and clocks in at 180 calories per serving. The brewery says it pairs well with barbecue, cheese and chocolate.

Yum! It sounds like the perfect autumnal treat.

On Sept. 29, Yuengling tweeted out about the beer’s return, writing, “What a time to be alive. #YuenglingxHersheys”:

“This Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter is sure to surprise and delight the chocolate fans, and the avid-beer lovers, among us that are looking to try something new and delicious,” Ernie Savo, senior director of global licensing and business development at The Hershey Company, said in a statement for last year’s debut. “Bringing together over 300 years of craft and experience is quite rare in 2019; however, that’s exactly what we did.”

We’re glad that the collaboration was a hit and that this yummy beer is available again this year!

“As we continue to innovate, evolve, we are particularly excited for our first beer collaboration to be with an iconic, Pennsylvania-based brand that shares the same values as we do,” Jen Yuengling, the brewery’s vice president of operations, told USA Today.

Cheers to that!
