One person was killed in a South Nashville shooting.
According to officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department, 24-year-old Denzel Tyler died in the shooting.
They also said the shooting appeared to be targeted and not random.
Police responded to the scene at the 100 block of Charles E. Davis Boulevard around 5:30 p.m.
Officers found Tyler sitting in the driver’s side of his Infiniti SUV, fatally wounded. He died at the scene.
Two guns were recovered, one was on the ground near Tyler, and the second gun was located on the center console inside the car.
It did not appear that Tyler, who had a valid handgun carry permit, exchanged gunfire with the suspect(s).
The motive for the shooting was unclear and still under investigation.
