NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A 10-year-old was taken to the hospital after he was accidentally shot by another child inside a hotel room in north Nashville.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. Saturday at the Regency Inn on Hampton Street, near Interstate 65 and West Trinity Lane.

The child was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was shot while playing with a couple of guns inside a room at the hotel.

Two other kids were with him at the time, according to authorities, and the only adult present was in the hallway.

Police said the three kids were playing with a cap gun when one of them picked up a real gun and accidentally shot the victim.

Officials said it was unknown who owned the gun. No further details were available.
