A driver and passenger from Indiana were arrested in Tennessee after a trooper discovered 11 pounds of crystal methamphetamine in a vehicle.

A Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper stopped a gray 2014 Chevrolet Malibu on Interstate 24 in Coffee County on Tuesday for a traffic violation.

Reports stated the driver, Shannon Baxter of Indianapolis, Indiana, was not cooperative, and actions by Baxter’s passenger, identified as Chanel Satter, also of Indianapolis, caused the trooper to become suspicious.

The trooper asked for consent to search the vehicle, and that request was denied by Baxter.

A K-9 officer with the Coffee County Sheriff's Office alerted officials to drugs in the vehicle.

A search revealed 11 pounds of crystal methamphetamine/ice, which had been packaged in five separate plastic containers and hidden behind the back seats under the carpet in the trunk area.

Baxter and Satter were arrested without incident on felony meth trafficking charges.
