A Putnam County 12-year-old has been found dead after going missing in Cookeville.
Officials said 12-year-old Katlyn LeeAnn Dunn was located just before 7 p.m. Thursday. She was last seen at 1899 Cane Creek Road in Cookeville around 3 p.m.
Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris said she was unresponsive when emergency personnel found her. He said she died before they were able to get to her.
Dunn had allegedly threatened suicide before going missing, but her exact cause of death was not released.
"Based on an early lead that she had threatened suicide, we and many other first responders made every effort to locate her quickly and get her medical attention. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the juvenile’s friends and family at this time," Sheriff Farris said in a statement.
No additional details were released.
