DEKALB COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — A total of 19 dogs were surrendered to the Nashville Humane Association at a home in Dekalb County.
Dekalb County Animal Shelter officials contacted NHA Wednesday about the cruelty case.
Officials said the hounds are in various stages of neglect and will need intensive medical care. They said foster homes will be needed for many of the dogs to help them learn "life off of a chain and what it means to have a family."
"We know our Tennessee Volunteers love their hounds and we were so happy to be able to help a local community partner," the NHA said in a social media post.
Anyone interested in fostering can send their information to erica@nashvillehumane.org.
