NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Powerball lottery ticket worth $1 million was purchased in Nashville after Wednesday night’s drawing.
Officials with the Tennessee Lottery released the information Thursday morning.
This marked the 18th win of $1 million or more this year. No additional information was known until the prize is claimed.
Since the Tennessee Lottery began sales on January 20, 2004, it has seen record growth every single year.
In 10 years, the Tennessee lottery has raised $2.91-billion for education-related programs in the state.
Aside from those contributions, $6.8-billion has been awarded in prizes, equaling roughly $2.1-million being distributed every day.
