Two people were injured when a car smashed into a Murfreesboro restaurant.

According to officials with the Murfreesboro Police Department, the driver drove into the side of the Sylvan Park restaurant on Thursday afternoon. Reports stated the driver had been leaving a car wash next door when the accelerator was mistakenly pressed instead of the brake.

Authorities said the driver and a person inside the building were inured and taken to the hospital, but they did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Crews removed the vehicle from the restaurant wall. Officials said drugs and alcohol were not suspected in the crash, but it was unknown if any medical issues happened before the wreck.

No charges were pending.
