Two 17-year-old Maplewood High School students were charged with carrying a loaded handgun onto campus.
School security was conducting a random search in a classroom when the weapon was located in a backpack.
The teens were a freshman and junior and both denied having the weapon. However, they were seen carrying the backpack prior to the recovery of the handgun.
The gun was reported stolen in June from a vehicle on Pueblo Drive in Madison.
