Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed the arrests of two men following a double homicide in Smith County in April.

Agents with the TBI joined the investigation with the District Attorney’s office and deputies with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office on April 26 to investigate the double homcide of two men on Dillehay Hollow Road.

The men’s bodies were found at a home in the 100 block by deputies responding to a call of a suspicious vehicle at that address.

The victims were identified as 38-year-old Shannon Smith, of Sparta, and 44-year-old Devon Clark, of Murfreesboro.

Information was developed throughout the course of the investigation that led officials to 53-year-old David Bibian and 18-year-old Alain Benitez as the suspects responsible for the deaths.

The two were indicted by the Smith County Grand Jury on Thursday.

Bibian, of Pleasant Shade, and Benitez, of Lebanon, were each charged with two counts of second degree murder.

Authorities confirmed Bibian was arrested and booked into the Smith County Jail on Thursday, and Benitez was taken into custody on Friday.

Both were being held without bond.
