2 Men Wanted For Questioning In Bellevue Murder

Posted

Detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department have asked for the public's help in finding two men wanted for questioning in the murder of a Bellevue man.

Billy Ray Plunk was shot and killed during an attempted robbery around 5 a.m. Saturday.  Plunk's brother, Zachary Plunk, said a man tried to rob them at gunpoint in their apartment complex.

Zachary told NewsChannel 5 it happened on their way back from a trip to the store. When the two drove home to their new apartment in the Iroquois complex, they were confronted by a man with a gun, who calmly asked both of them for all they had at the time.

Both of men refused to give him anything. Zachary said, as the man walked away, Billy Ray went to look at the license plate of the car being driven by the suspect and yelled toward it saying, "I got your tags..."

That's when the man shot Billy Ray twice, killing him.

Monday afternoon, police released surveillance video photos of two men wanted for questioning in the shooting.

Anyone with information on the men were asked to call police at 615-742-7463.
