NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police said they were looking for two suspects who were shot at by a homeowner during an attempted home invasion.

Authorities said the incident happened in the 1000 block of Bret Ridge Drive in Hermitage shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday.

According to reports, the victim arrived home around that time and found two suspects in his yard. The homeowner told police one of the suspects pointed a gun at him as they fled, and he fired at them in self-defense.

Officials said they believed one of the suspects may have been hit, but a K9 officer was unsuccessful in tracking them down.

The suspects were described as a white male in a light-colored hoodie and a black male wearing a hoodie and gray pants.

Authorities believed a vehicle and outbuilding on the property were burglarized.
