ANTIOCH, Tenn. - Officials in Antioch confirmed a child drowned in an above ground pool. Foul play is not suspected in the death.
Authorities said the 3-year-old boy was found unresponsive in the pool at a home on Rocky Mountain Parkway on Saturday.
According to police, the child's 25-year-old stepbrother was doing chores and supervising the child when he looked outside and saw the 3-year-old motionless.
Reports stated as the child's father was about to get in his vehicle and leave, he heard a commotion in the backyard. The father ran to assist with CPR until medics arrived. Police said the child's mother was also at home.
The child was taken to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt where doctors said he passed away.
Further details were not released as the investigation remained ongoing.
