NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Several dogs had a big day over at the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Friday, multiple K-9 teams graduated at the training center.

The four drug detector K-9 teams were celebrated in a special ceremony. The graduating class consisted of four teams that will be assigned to the various THP districts.

“We pick dogs that have drive, and that’s all they want to do,” said Trooper Douglas with THP. “They can care less whether you pet them pretty much. Their play time is out there on the street whenever they get out, they get to work, and they get that toy.”

Handlers were presented with a certificate of completion, while their K-9 partners received badges.
