44 Pounds Of Pot Found In Suitcase At BNA

A woman was caught with 44 pounds of marijuana in her suitcases at Nashville International Airport.

The suspect, Juneequa Smith, was taken into custody late Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities using drug sniffing dogs located the suitcase in the baggage area. They waited until the owner disembarked from the plane and came to claim her luggage.

She was arrested by DEA agents and airport police officers and then transported to jail.

She was flying from Oakland via Phoenix, but the marijuana was not detected obviously until it arrived in Nashville.

The marijuana was split into two suitcases containing a total of 37 vacuum sealed packages of pot.

Smith was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
