NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A portion of 46 Avenue North in West Nashville could remain closed for hours after a semi-truck struck a power pole.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. Monday, at the intersection of 46th Avenue at Alabama Avenue.
Traffic was allowed to merge onto Interstate 40 at the on-ramp on Alabama Avenue; however southbound traffic on 46th Avenue remains blocked.
Crews on the scene were working to remove the pole and clean-up transformer oil that spilled onto the roadway.
When the power line fell on the truck, a man who was sleeping inside the cab was shocked by a jolt of electricity. He is expected to be okay.
The road could remain closed until at least 4 p.m.
No additional details were known.
