SAN DIEGO, Calif. – A 92-year-old grandmother just trotted her way into the history books after becoming the oldest woman to ever finish a marathon.
Harriette Thompson ran all 26.2 miles of the San Diego Rock and Rock Marathon over the weekend.
She finished the race in just over 7 hours and 24 minutes to a crowd roaring with support.
This wasn’t her first marathon. She's run it 15 times before and said she's thinking about doing it again next year.
According to race organizers,Thompson is 92 years, 65 days old.
The oldest woman to previously complete a marathon was Gladys Burrill, who was 92 years and 19 days old when she completed the 2010 Honolulu Marathon.
