NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A crash on Gallatin Pike claimed the life of a 96-year-old Madison man.

Metro Police officials say Travis Lawrence died in the three-vehicle crash at Gallatin Pike and Maplewood Drive on Thursday.

Lawrence pulled out of a parking lot onto Gallatin Pike into the path of a southbound 2012 Audi Q5. The Q5 hit the driver’s side of his Chevrolet Impala. The Impala then spun around and struck a northbound Nissan Altima, according to the preliminary report.

Lawrence was transported to Skyline Medical Center where he died. The driver of the Audi, 77-year-old Betty Hollingsworth, and the driver of the Nissan, 79-year-old Minnie Baldwin, both sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

There was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement at the scene.
