NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man broke into a Bellevue home and held a knife up to the homeowner because he believed the homeowner was a drug dealer, according an arrest affidavit.

Police said Stanley Daniels went into the victim's home through a locked glass storm door in the back of the home with a large knife in hand. Daniels walked into the home and began looking for the victim by calling out to him by name. When the victim saw Daniels, he did not appear to know who he was.

The arrest affidavit said Daniels threatened the victim's life by putting the knife up to his neck and saying "today is the day you're going to die." When the victim threatened to call police, Daniels responded by claiming he was a police officer.

Daniels put the knife to the left side of the victim's throat, a few inches away from him, but the victim was able to get away and run into the bedroom of the home.

The affidavit says Daniels followed him and stood outside his bedroom as he stabbed and kicked at the door. Before leaving the property, Daniels cut himself with the knife, leaving blood in several areas around the home.

Daniels was found outside his own home bleeding from the hand. When asked why he entered the victim's home, he told police believed the victim was a dealing drugs.

Daniels was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
