NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — An accused serial arsonist has been arrested in Nashville after a string of car fires.
According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville police, firefighters found a Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Silverado and Jeep Grand Cherokee all torched outside a business on East Trinity Lane.
Security video then showed a man in a Nissan Altima using a container of flammable liquid to start the fires. That video led to the arrest of 42-year-old James Hayward Williams.
The motive behind the fires remains unknown.
Williams has a history of more than 27 charges, including aggravated assault, vandalism and arson.
He now faces additional warrants and is accused of setting all of those car fires at the business.
