Nashville Airbnb get mixed reviews but one Nashville community has discovered they may be temporary neighbors who are very good for business.
In East Nashville where a small business can be right next to a residential property, some locals said housing tourists there instead of downtown helps their bottom line.
Leslie Allen, who owns I Dream of Weenie - a popular hot-dog stand, said they get customers from all over the country.
“As both as business owner and a resident of the neighborhood, I know both sides of the Airbnb debate if you want to call it that,” she said.
Allen said as a business owner she appreciates the extra foot traffic, but it does come with a price – sometimes the peace and quiet.
“As a resident of the neighborhood, I understand the downside of it,” she added. “Might have rowdier guests. That can be disturbing and that can be problematic."
Guests who stay in neighborhoods and interact with the day-to-day community may even decide to plant their roots in Nashville permanently.
