FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Police have asked the public’s help in identifying a group of suspected shoplifters who allegedly stole from the Cool Springs Galleria for the second time this summer.
The reported theft happened at 8:30 p.m. Monday, at Belk. Officials with Franklin police said three women entered the store and began filling empty shopping bags with more than 50 Polo brand children’s shirts.
The items were valued at an estimated $1,200.
The suspects fled the store to a waiting black Acura that had a temporary license plate.
Police said the women, who may have been men dressed as women, were also accompanied by a man.
“They know that with video there's a good chance they could end up on TV or in the news, so it's not uncommon for anyone like that to try and disguise their identity,” said Charlie Warner, of the Franklin Police Department.
It’s believed the same group is responsible for taking 70 shirts, valued at approximately $1,800, back in July.
If you know anything, call Crime Stoppers at (615)-794-4000. A reward of up to $1,000 has been offered for information in the case.
