LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Amazon celebrated the openings of a new sorting center in La Vergne and a delivery station in Lebanon by delivering supplies to more than a dozen local schools.
In La Vergne, packages will be sorted before being transferred to a delivery station or last-mile delivery partner for final delivery for customers.
“La Vergne continues to show that its business-friendly policies and low taxes attract global leaders to the city,” said Mayor Jason Cole in a press release. “With our diverse workforce and interstate access La Vergne is proud to welcome Amazon’s newest sorting center to Middle TN.”
More than 230 new full-time jobs were created by the center and it also empowers seven small businesses via Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner Program, creating hundreds of full-time driver jobs.
More than 90 full-time positions were filled at the 600,000 square-foot location in Lebanon. It empowers five small businesses via Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner program.
To celebrate the launch Amazon workers delivered supplies to 13 local elementary schools in the Wilson County school system. Supplies included copy paper, paper towels, batteries and plastic bags.
Both new delivery stations are still hiring full-time associates. Anyone interested in applying can do so here: amazondelivers.jobs.
